
Tokyo Geisha Experience
An approximately two-hour geisha experience designed especially for first-time guests.
JPY 20,000 per person (tax included)
Experience authentic geisha culture at a traditional Japanese ryotei restaurant in Mukojima. Enjoy a geisha dance performance, conversation and Q&A with a geisha, traditional ozashiki party games, and a photo opportunity. An English-speaking attendant will accompany the experience.
The experience is normally held for groups of 6–10 guests and is available on selected dates only.
The experience is generally scheduled for Monday afternoons. Please check the booking form for the latest available dates.
Please note that meals are not included.
Minimum number of participants: 6.
Sample Schedule
- 2:00 PM: Meet near Tokyo Skytree and walk with your attendant to the ryotei
- Around 2:30 PM: Arrive at the ryotei and enjoy a welcome drink
- Around 2:40 PM: Geisha dance performance, conversation and Q&A, and traditional ozashiki games
- Around 3:45 PM: Photo opportunity with the geisha
- Around 4:00 PM: Experience ends at the ryotei
Price
- JPY 20,000 per person (tax included)
- One welcome drink is included. Additional drinks are available for purchase.
- Beer, sake, shochu, whisky, non-alcoholic beverages, and soft drinks are available. Please note that wine is not available.
- Additional drinks may be paid for in Japanese yen or by credit card.
Meeting Point & Venue
- Meeting Point: Tokyo Skytree area or Asakusa area
- The exact meeting point will be provided by email once the tour is confirmed.
- Venue: Ryotei Chiyoda, Mukojima, Sumida-ku, Tokyo
- We will normally walk from the meeting point to the venue.
- You may also go directly to Ryotei Chiyoda if you prefer. If you would like to do so, please let us know in the “Other Requests or Comments” section of the booking form.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation fees are based on local time in Japan, where the tour takes place.
- Up to 7 days before the tour: No cancellation fee
- 6 to 3 days before the tour: 50% of the participation fee
- 2 days before the tour or later: 100% of the participation fee
- If the number of participants in your group decreases, the same cancellation policy will apply to the cancelled participants.
- No refunds will be provided if you miss part or all of the program due to late arrival.
- The tour generally requires a minimum of 6 participants to operate.
- If we cancel the tour due to insufficient participants or for reasons on our side, all participation fees paid will be fully refunded.
- We will generally notify you by email whether the tour will take place approximately two days before the scheduled date.
- For bookings made through Viator, Tripadvisor, or other booking platforms, the cancellation policy shown on the respective booking platform applies.
Important Notes
- Guests who are heavily intoxicated, or whose behavior causes disturbance or inconvenience to other guests, geisha, venue staff, or others involved in the experience, may be asked to leave, and the experience may be terminated at the discretion of our tour attendant.
- This experience, including traditional ozashiki games, is intended to introduce guests to authentic Japanese geisha culture. Inappropriate behavior, unwanted physical contact, or any conduct that causes discomfort or inconvenience to the geisha or others involved will not be permitted. In such cases, the experience may be terminated at the discretion of our tour attendant.
- No refund will be provided if the experience is terminated due to excessive intoxication or inappropriate behavior.
